Will They be Home for Christmas?
With Christmas nearly here the question on everyone’s mind is “will the kids be home for Christmas?”
I bet you thought I was thinking of Hillary and Jimmy! You’re right!!
They did not get taken hostage! The driver of the Beatle Crusher that gave them a lift got lost and the finished up in Seattle. Home of Starbucks, talk about a coincidence. The gentleman who gave them a lift was the owner of a giant software company and he put them up at his place for the night. They played with his latest game box, the one that the public has not heard about yet, and in the morning a car was sent to take them home.
Jimmy can’t believe his luck! Imagine a pre-release look at the newest game box. He will be writing advertisements for the next few days, hoping to pick up a contract with his new friends company. Copywriter’s heaven, northwest of Seattle. He willl have a role to play in the pre-release build up.
They will find a way to get the word out that the number of machines is limited due to “an infestation of mutated Magpies in the attic at the factory in China”. The plan will call for a specific release day; it will be leaked to the leading Blogs! Once this is done the company will have 345 Blogers go online and start posting comments about how hard it will be to pick up one of the LIMITED Number of machine when they hit the stores.
The Networks will see this Blog action and feed on it. They will make it headline news, Blogers will pump up more rumors, and lines will be formed with the company line men at the front giving interviews. A few “beta” models will show up for sale on eBay, writers for the major gaming magazines will get an early look in locked rooms.
Will all this generate enough hype to sell out first day?
