Variety of Graduation Gifts
Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011Many preschools now offer their students a graduation ceremony when they “matriculate” on to kindergarten. Such ceremonies are a lot of fun for both parents and students, especially when the kids wear cap and gowns for high school.
Obviously one of the biggest features of these ceremonies is the certificate. Getting a diploma can be fun and thrilling for kids. It can also be a source of pride and joy for their parents. Unfortunately many preschool owners don’t know the first thing about creating a diploma. Fortunately there are a few basic rules a person can follow make the process of creating preschool diplomas simple and fun.
The first rule to diplomas is to keep them simple. Don’t go overboard and order fancy paper, frames, and other expensive features. Simply hand out a basic piece of paper with the child’s name on it and perhaps a nice little quote. Owners should remember that these documents are not like high school or college diplomas they are more of a novelty. There is no reason to make diplomas for preschoolers look anything like those given to high school or college graduates.
Instead of handing each grad a sheepskin, hand out a basic piece of paper. A good way to make the diploma look fun and distinctive is to have it printed on colored paper. One way to make each child special is to print each diploma on a different colored paper. Another would be to have different colors of paper for the boys and the girls.
Color printing can make diplomas look great but it can be expensive. A bright white piece of paper with colored designs on it could be a great looking diploma. One suggestion would be to print out the diploma on a very thick or glossy piece of paper so it can be framed. Office supply, print and paper shops should have many different kids of paper to choose from. One suggestion for saving money is to look in the clearance section of the store. Another idea is to purchase loose pieces of paper directly from the print or copy section of the store.
There are some other great ways to spruce up diplomas to make them more special to children. One good way to do this would be to roll each diploma up and tie it with some sort of bow or ribbon. This is a cheap and easy way to make a very basic looking diploma look great. Another creative option is to hand out a gift such as a piece of candy or fruit, a small toy, a book, a coloring book or a box of crayons with each diploma. Preschoolers maybe too young to appreciate the importance of this piece of paper, but they will like such little gifts.
